Relations with UNESCO (IBC)

The ICB interacts systematically with UNESCO's bioethics committees: the International Bioethics Committee (CIB), the Intergovernmental Bioethics Committee (CIGB) and the World Commission of Ethics of Scientific Knowledge and Technology (COMEST).

Prof. Laura Palazzani has been a member of the International Bioethics Committee of Unesco since 2016. She attended the plenary meetings: Madrid (21-22 March 2017) and Paris (11-15 September 2017). It is part of the two working groups: "Health and Big Data" and "Refugees and Health", recently approved. On the occasion of the Plenary held in Paris, Prof. Laura Palazzani brought a contribution to the discussion also thanks to the documents discussed and approved by the NBC on "Immigration and health" and on "ICT, Big data and health". These documents are of considerable importance in the context of international discussion. It also offered a contribution to the discussion on Comest's opinion on "Robotics" thanks to the document of the ICB and CNBBSV on "Robotics and roboethics developments".
